Guggenheim Grotto Over Produced?

Ever since I heard Guggenheim Grotto's live studio recording of "Her Beautiful Ideas" on WERS, I've been eagerly awaiting the album's debut so I could purchase the song.Unfortunately, (I'm assuming) a recording executive got a hold of the song and completely over produced it for the album. Thankfully, Pepsi and Amazon paid for my digital copy of the song, but needless to say, I'm disappointed.
Honestly, even this grainy recording on YouTube sounds so much better than the album version, right?

I hope I'm not the only one that feels this way. It sounds like they went from Rustic Root in the early versions to a Postal Service clone and unfortunately, for all of us, it wasn't an improvement.
